The People Behind Cold Summit: Meet Robyn Fox

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝘆𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘅 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 — 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻.

After 15 years in dentistry, COVID hit and Robyn found herself asking a question a lot of people were asking in 2020: What do I actually want out of work?

The answer led her somewhere she never expected: cold storage.
“I had no idea this type of industry existed,” she says. “What drew me to this field wasn’t the multi-temp capable buildings. It was the environment that Cold Summit provided; one that was deeply based on love and a family-first mentality.”

Today, Robyn serves as Business Operations Manager at Cold Summit, though she’d be the first to tell you the title only tells part of the story. On any given day she might be troubleshooting an IT issue, coordinating travel for CEO Scott Pertel, or deep in logistics mode planning a grand opening or team event. The wide range of responsibilities is exactly what she enjoys about it.

“A typical day varies for me, which I love.”

That adaptability — staying open, staying curious, staying ready — is something Robyn brings to everything she does, professionally and personally. She’s a true Sun Valley local, born and raised, and if she’s not in the office you can probably find her on a trail. She’s summited five of Idaho’s nine 12,000-foot peaks, rides mountain bikes, takes her dog Louie to the river, and somehow also finds time to perform in local musicals.

She’s also a rock hound. Never finishes a hike without bringing a few home.

When asked about the best professional advice she’s ever received, her answer says a lot about how she shows up at work:

“Be able to take constructive criticism. I stay open-minded and in a constant state of willingness to learn, because I know there’s someone out there who has already been through it and possibly has a valuable piece of advice that could change my world.”

That’s Robyn Fox. Always moving. Always learning. Exactly where she belongs.
